Zona Tango:

Zona Tango is the electrotango project led by the Argentine composer and multinstrumentalist Pedro Menéndez (keyboards, guitar, bandoneon, flute, sax, trombone, voice and composition).

Year 2004 - after a long stay in Spain and France featuring music of his own and performing traditional tango on festivals and milongas- Pedro Menéndez, wellknown for an unique trayectory of restless quests on tango and Argentina folk music, came back to Buenos Aires feeling the need to experiment and go beyond the fusion of modern tango and electronic sounds adding elements of jazz, latin and afro-american rythms. At that moment he joined bandoneonist Oscar Fasanelli and Maurice Lévar (electronics) and finally the first CD of 'Zona Tango': 'Electrónico' was born, distinguished by a solid, commited composition style and a varied and not very conventional instrumentation.

As a reflect of the inevitable change and evolution of the urban cosmopolitan music, and without leaving the first 'Electronico' project, on the beginning of May 2006 Zona Tango released his second discographic work introducing to the world the first revolutionare mixture between electrotango and bossa nova: 'BrazilTango', featuring 9 original compositions and new arrangements of the famous pieces "Adiós Nonino (Astor Piazzolla) and "Corcovado" (A.C.Jobim).
